JMOS Photography Spring Lighting Workshop – May 17, 2025


Join us for the JMOS Photography Spring Lighting Workshop on May 17th, 2025 — a full day of creativity, education, and hands-on shooting designed to take your photography lighting skills to the next level.

This unique event offers two exciting workshop options, both focused on mastering off-camera flash in different environments. Whether you love shooting outdoors or prefer the control of a studio, we’ve got something for you!


Location: Port Jefferson Station + Coram,NY


⚡️ Outdoor Off-Camera Flash Photo Walk – Port Jefferson Station

Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Take your lighting skills into the wild with this on-location photo walk in Port Jefferson Station. We’ll be working with professional models and couples in a variety of natural settings — but this isn’t just a natural light shoot. You’ll learn how to creatively incorporate off-camera flash in outdoor environments, enhancing your portraits and overcoming challenging lighting conditions.


📸 Studio Lighting Session – Coram, NY

Time: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Step into a freshly opened photo studio in Coram and dive into the world of studio lighting. This session will include multiple setups, one-on-one shooting time with models, and instruction on how to effectively use off-camera flash, modifiers, and studio strobes. Perfect for those looking to refine their technical skills and build a more polished portfolio.

Pricing & Admission

Thanks to our amazing sponsor, photographers will receive a $150 discount off!

Photographers: $250 → $100 per session (non-refundable)

Models: $50→ $25 (sponsored admission – limited spots available for studio session)


What You’ll Need

DSLR or Mirrorless camera

Basic knowledge of camera settings

Off-camera flash (recommended but not required — gear will be available to test)

Creative energy and willingness to learn


Additional Notes

Please respect the models, the space, and your fellow creatives — this is a supportive, learning-focused environment.

We hand-pick all models for professionalism and energy. In the rare case of a cancellation, we’ll do our best to provide an equal replacement.

Feel free to use the images you create for your portfolio and social media — just remember to tag and credit the models when sharing!

This is a ticketed event only — no guests allowed. Each attendee must register individually.

How do I buy a ticket?

Once you have filled out the short form I will email you a invoice to the event

Do you have to be a photographer or a model to attend the event?

Yes, unfortunately this will be a closed event and only photographers and models (social media accounts will be check for authenticity) will be able to purchase tickets.

Where will the event take place?

The workshop will take place in Port Jefferson & Coram New York. Once the attendee has been authenticated and ticket purchased the exact location will be provide.

What should I bring to the workshop?

All you have to bring is yourself, and your camera of course. All lighting equipment will be provided.
